This road is the best closest scenic drive from the Banff town site.    It is newly paved in 09 and takes you up to the big lake where you can get fishing and boat tours.  There are some hikes in the area as well such as "C" level cirque and around the southwest side of the lake.  Big lake trout have been caught from this lake over the years as well.
